There are really two pest control bills: the one-off treatment when something has already moved in, and the annual service that stops most problems starting. They solve different problems, and the maths between them is worth two minutes before you book either.
One-off treatment costs
When a specific pest has arrived, you pay for a specific treatment. As a guide from Rapidkil’s published pricing: rodent, ant or wasp treatments are $190 each, fire ants $250, and an end-of-lease flea treatment $149. Persistent breeders are staged by necessity — German cockroaches at $249 per treatment across a minimum of two visits, bed bugs at $190 per treatment across a minimum of two — because a single visit cannot reach eggs that have not hatched yet. The annual service
A general pest treatment — $289, or $339 for larger homes — covers the four pests behind most Brisbane callouts: cockroaches, ants, spiders and silverfish, treated inside and out, warranty-backed. One visit a year, and the everyday problems largely stop being problems. Where the maths gets interesting is the combined package: pairing the annual treatment with a termite inspection in the same visit is $429, or $479 for larger homes — saving $129 against booking them separately, and folding the termite check most homes skip into a bill they were paying anyway.
When each makes sense
A one-off is the right call for a specific, contained problem — a wasp nest, a rodent in the roof void as the weather cools. The annual service is the right call for almost everything else, because prevention at $289 is consistently cheaper than reaction: a single established German cockroach program costs more than the annual treatment that would likely have prevented it. What does not work
Two spending traps worth naming. Ultrasonic pest repellers are not a reliable substitute for treatment — the evidence for them is poor, and money spent there tends to precede a professional callout anyway.
